Description Overview

As a Production Manager at Perrigo, you will provide leadership and mentoring of department-based production supervisors and hourly work force working on multiple shifts.  Give performance feedback to supervisors, recognizing good performance and providing direction for corrective action on people development, safety, quality, and production. 

Scope of the Role

  • Supervises manufacturing and packaging employees working on multiple shifts. Gives performance feedback to supervisors, recognizing good performance and providing direction for corrective action on people development, safety, quality, and production.
  • Monitors daily production activity on all shifts to ensure consistent compliance with established procedures and takes corrective action when necessary.
  • Ensures that all operations comply with current Good Manufacturing Procedures, reviews Standard Operating Procedure changes for all plant operations, and monitors training and enforcement to ensure SOPs are followed.
  • Shares specialized experience or expertise with management and supervisory team in the development and implementation of on-going processes or special projects.  
  • May test or evaluate process changes and recommend their implementation or rejection, supervise on-going or special maintenance or installation projects, and work with engineering staff to select or evaluate new equipment, both on capital projects and ancillary equipment.
  • Participates in capacity or budget planning, gathers and evaluates information, and makes and presents recommendations to the plant manager or other management staff.

Experience Required

  • Knowledge of cGMPs and experience supervising in pharmaceutical/nutritional operations.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, management, engineering or a related discipline combined with 7 + years of production supervision experience.
  • Firsthand experience in managing infant nutritional manufacturing operations or management experience managing processing spray drying facilities preferred.
  • Sound judgment and good decision-making skills.
  • Demonstrated strong leadership skills, including well-developed communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Good planning, analytical skills, and a thorough understanding of manufacturing, packaging and/or warehousing processes.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including strong listening skills and presentation skills are required.
  • Ability to provide work direction across multiple production areas and shifts.
  • Ability to manage in high pressure environments.
