Description Overview

A Purchasing Planner manages systems and procures direct materials, in accordance with MRP, providing a continuous flow to Operations. Decisions made by this position have a direct impact to the level of service provided to our customers and affects the execution of manufacturing plans. Hours for this position are 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM (EST) with a Hybrid work environment. Applicants must live within commuting distance to a Perrigo US Plant.

Scope of the Role

  • Functions as Value Stream liaison with Procurement, Operations, and Suppliers.
  • Communicates operational needs and supplier capabilities.
  • Ensures a continuous supply of materials to the Value Streams.
  • Identifies supply chain breakdowns and/or service risks and escalates as appropriate.
  • Creates purchase orders, tracks confirmations, and monitors for timely arrival of materials.
  • Collaborates with supervisor and executes temporary, non-routine processes for exceptional events until resolved.
  • Assesses existing and new materials for applicable changes and maintains master data systems to include but not limited to, order minimums, lead times, safety stock, and rounding values as applicable.
  • Routine life-cycle meetings with Procurement to discuss projects, Supplier service levels, receipt issues, and quality concerns.
  • Generates and maintains monthly supplier scorecards and forecasts.
  • Ensures compliance to SOPs and company policies.

Experience Required

  • High School diploma or equivalent; with degree in business, supply chain, or related field preferred.
  • Three years supply chain experience.
  • Demonstrated strong self-management capabilities.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills, and ability to work with internal and external partners.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with MRP systems preferred.
  • Basic skills with Microsoft Office suite.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment with multiple competing priorities.
