Description Overview

Looking for talented individuals who are passionate about developing different effective, stable, and robust drug products with hands-on and applied work experience with oral solids and liquids, and topicals (semi-solids) dosage forms who thrive in collaborative environments and are driven by curiosity, innovation and scientific excellence, ensuring that each product meets the highest standards of quality and efficacy.

This position requires a deep understanding of pharmaceutical and material sciences, chemistry, and biology as well as the creativity to design and optimize dosage forms to receive consideration for this role. 

Scope of the Role

  • Conduct formulation research via quality scientific experimentation to create new products that meet quality and efficacy standards that comply with industry regulations and guidelines.
  • Support troubleshooting and help in resolving formulation-related issues.
  • Generate and maintain accurate and reliable scientific data from designed experiments by following established procedures and practices to support product development.
  • Analyze and defend scientific data from experiments and prepare reports on formulation performance.
  • Perform effective problems solving, resolution, and implementation of process improvements in designated day-to-day operations and participate in large scope product/process development and improvement projects.
  • Prepare and/or Review internal/external Master Batch Records for Experimental, Pilot/Pivotal, scale-up and process validation batches.
  • Communicate formulation development findings effectively to project manager and the wider development team and presents data at team meetings and departmental technical meetings.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary (local and global) teams to resolve complex product development issues and respond to internal and external audits.  
  • Provide technical support to Technical Operations, Manufacturing, Packaging, Quality and others, internally and/or at third party contractors.
  • Partner with marketing and internal consumer research teams to support front end innovation, consumer research studies to optimize product design and assure new products deliver an exceptional consumer experience.

Experience Required

  • At a minimum, a Bachelor's degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences or related life-sciences
  • 2+ years of experience in formulation or product development.
  • Understanding of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge in PK and BE designs
  • Effective communication and presentation skills (project management abilities, time management and organizational skills are a plus)
  • Knowledge of analytical testing techniques.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Familiarity with regulatory guidelines and compliance.
  • Detail-oriented with strong documentation skills.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.
  • Sound knowledge of pharmaceutical excipients and raw materials.
