Description Overview

The Engineer Process Support performs standard engineering assignments, usually representing a significant portion of a larger project.  Selects engineering techniques to solve problems and makes design recommendations.

 

Scope of the Role

  • Participates as a team member in a specific phase of a broad engineering assignment.
  • Directs preparation of appropriate documentation for assigned projects.
  • Provides technical leadership to a small group of temporarily assigned engineers and technicians.
  • Ensures successful completion of the assigned project phase within the budgeted time and cost constraints.
  • Participates in defining engineering approaches, and in planning and scheduling work.

Experience Required

  • Bachelor's degree in an Engineering or Science discipline preferred; typically, three (3) to six (6) years of work experience required.
  • Knowledge of Lean Concepts and willingness to gain Green Belt / Black Belt certification. 
  • Knowledge of cGMPs and previous exposure to pharmaceutical manufacturing highly preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including strong listening skills and presentation skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, sound decision making skills, and demonstrated ability to meet deadlines in a team-oriented environment.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and computer literacy.
  • Knowledge and ability to apply Lean Sigma principles highly preferred.
  • Ability to interpret and apply written procedures and standards governing manufacturing processes.
  • Ability to compile and organize statistical process information and present findings to leadership.

The successful candidate must be physically able to climb stairs, use hands to manipulate basic hand tools/handheld equipment, operate a motor vehicle to access various plant locations, and be able to stand for long periods of time.
