Description Overview

This position is responsible for designing, implementing, and managing Enterprise architecture and solutions across the organization. The Enterprise Architect will work closely with various departments to ensure seamless integration and functionality of systems, supporting the company's strategic goals.

Scope of the Role

Strategic Planning and Process Improvement:

  • Ensure that the architecture framework is aligned with industry best practices and regulatory requirements
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and trends to identify opportunities for innovation and competitive advantage including AI/ML and Data
  • In collaboration with technology and business leaders, develops and maintains a technology strategy and roadmap that supplements the overall business strategy for CSCA/CSCI
  • Establishes roles and responsibilities, value framework, accountability model, engagement model, technology roadmaps and metrics reporting. Provides tactical support for key projects to support complex design and/or validate alignment to architectural standards to ensure functionality, scalability, performance, security, and maintainability
  • Implement and maintain an industry-based enterprise architecture framework like TOGAF and COBIT to provide a structured approach to technology planning and governance
  • Develop and implement best practices for Infrastructure architecture, enhancing operational efficiency and productivity
  • Identify opportunities to optimize applications rationalization solutions and reduce costs

 

Technology and Tools Management:

  • Apply and promote the use of enterprise architecture frameworks (e.g., TOGAF, COBIT) to ensure robust, scalable, and secure technology solutions
  • Develop a phased approach to applications rationalization that minimizes risk and maximizes efficiency
  • Design and implement scalable new technology that can enhance our business collaborating with Business Technology Leaders
  • Stays abreast of emerging technologies, changes in the industry and vendor landscape by researching publications, attending conferences, and participating in advisory boards

 

Project Leadership:

  • Drive and guide technical decision-making on architecture from project inception to completion, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to budget
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, design solutions, and implement Infrastructure architecture strategies
  • Monitor project progress, manage risks, and ensure successful project outcomes

 

Compliance:

  • Contribute to and enforce governance policies and procedures to ensure integrity and compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Conduct regular reviews and assessments to ensure architecture processes meet Perrigo standards
  • Review and approve technology projects and initiatives to ensure that they comply with architectural standards and best practices

 

Team Leadership and Development:

  • Help drive excellence across all aspects of Perrigo’s architecture work by building architectural deliverables, sharing knowledge and skills, and enforcing best practices for architecture
  • Establish and enforce technology and AI governance policies and procedures to ensure that the credit union's technology investments are aligned with its strategic objectives
  • Mentor and guide a team of different architects, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement
  • Foster a collaborative and innovative culture within the architecture team
     

Experience Required

  • Technical Expertise: Proficiency with Cisco, Azure, TOGAF, SOA, Salesforce, SAP   technologies, including the ability to produce and maintain architectural standards and diagrams
  • Proven experience in managing large-scale projects. Demonstrated expertise in practically applying existing, new and emerging technologies to current, new and evolving business needs in support of business strategy
  • Familiarity with system development life cycle management, IT services management, IT infrastructure and operations, and IT Enterprise Architecture frameworks such as TOGAF and COBIT
  • Advanced knowledge of technology architecture, with proven design skills
  • Strong knowledge of business and technology ecosystems, SaaS (Software as a Service), IaaS (Infrastructure as a Service), PaaS (Platform as a Service), SOA, APIs, microservices, design patterns, and systems integration concepts
  • Understanding of waterfall and agile software development, application lifecycle management (ALM) practices, and information management and data governance principles
  • Strong knowledge of networking, computing platform, storage, database, security, middleware, network and systems management, and related infrastructure technologies and practices
  • Demonstrated competence in identifying risk areas and proactively determining appropriate mitigation strategies
  • Proven track record of leading and influencing, including leading and mentoring architects and other technology professionals and managers, positively motivating teams, and instilling accountability for on-time, within budget delivery. Ability to develop and manage processes that motivate staff to achieve desired results
  • Demonstrated competence in managing the work of vendors and/or subcontractors, completing vendor negotiations and contract development
  • Broad knowledge and understanding of current industry trends and developments in new technologies
  • Experience with Microsoft Visio, Project Online, Team Foundation Server, Power Point, Excel, Windows 10/11, Windows Server, SharePoint
  • These skills are typically acquired through the completion of a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field; combined with 7-10 years of experience in Enterprise Architecture; or 15 years of Enterprise Architecture
  • Masters degree preferred
