Description Overview

The Asset Reliability Manager provides direction, support, and leadership to the Asset Reliability Supervisor, Planner, and maintenance team for the designated area.  Additionally, the Asset Reliability Manager is responsible for equipment asset management including budgets, life-cycle costs, and the selection and implementation of optimum maintenance strategies. 

Scope of the Role

  • Collaborates with engineering managers and operations managers to ensure alignment of goals and objectives
  • Works with operations, asset reliability supervisor, and planner to prioritize and execute work based on established plans
  • Develops and tracks appropriate key performance indicators for the maintenance function and analyzes performance for decision-making on equipment assets with respect to selection, operations, maintenance, utilization, and/or replacement.
  • Assists in personnel actions for the team, including hiring, training, performance appraisal, discipline, and safety of their team
  • Provides resources to execute the training plan for their team and works with other areas to support training rotations
  • Analyzes and evaluates maintenance operations and work systems in order to maximize cost effectiveness of maintenance function.
  • Responds to issues as needed to support the asset reliability supervisor and helps coordinate resources and provide direction
  • Responsible for departmental operating budget, including development of and adherence to financial targets
  • Manages capital projects tied to asset life cycle costs
  • Works with procurement and vendors to negotiate contracts for services provided
  • Provides input on strategic direction, including capital planning and equipment replacement
  • Leads reliability specific activities such as PM Optimization workshops

Experience Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering / Related Field, or Journeyworker status in at least one skilled trade
  • 5 Years of experience in operations / manufacturing environment, with preference given to FDA regulated / GMP environment
  • Demonstrated strong analytical and problem-solving skills as well as excellent interpersonal skills and good written and oral communication
  • Understanding of 5S and Continuous Improvement practices
  • Ability to present information effectively to a wide variety of audiences
  • Results oriented and able to work in a fast paced, changing environment where a high degree of teamwork and collaboration are required
  • Ability to supervise others, handle multiple assignments, and work with a minimal amount of supervision
  • Ability to handle and resolve conflicts and maintain confidentiality
  • Strong computer skills: Microsoft Office programs and SAP are required
  • Strong leadership, customer service and organizational skills are required to ensure all projects and assignments meet customer expectations
  • Strong safety leadership, knowledge and experience preferred
