Description Overview

 

The Environment, Health & Safety Advisor is responsible for providing technical advice and support for all of Braunton’s environmental health and safety programs. These programs are designed to minimize employee exposure to workplace risks, control and eliminate incidents, and assure compliance with all applicable environmental, health and safety regulations.

 

Working as part of the site EHS team, and utilizing compliance tools and management systems, the successful candidate will coordinate & lead proactive environment health and safety programs that align with the Perrigo corporate requirements.

Scope of the Role

 

  • Knowledge of EHS management systems, safety and environment regulations, and local, regional and global related compliance requirements
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate strategic initiatives towards an established EHS vision
  • Work with EHS Manager to ensure site safety objectives and leading indicators are achieved, recorded and standards maintained
  • Deputises for the EHS Manager in various committees and steering teams as the EHS representative
  • Leads tactical and strategic initiatives at the site to eliminate hazards and reduce or eliminate risks and drive continuous EHS performance improvement
  • Provide practical support in Incident Investigations, Training, Auditing, Implementation of Corrective Actions and Risk Assessments
  • Provide specialist services such as Exposure Monitoring, Acoustic Surveys and High Hazard Risk Assessment
  • In the event of an accident or incident the job holder may act as a SME to advise on corrective actions to protect the Company and/or individuals
  • May support investigations on accidents/incident and personnel issues
  • Advises as SME on a variety of subjects within the scope of their role including legal compliance, PPE specification, Exposure Limits and Controls.
  • Supports & promotes continuous improvement of the safety culture
  • Attends Area Safety Meetings as the SME
  • Support Safety PWS and HOP initiatives to increase employee engagement and understanding of EHS
  • Collaborates with cross-functional teams including Quality Assurance, Engineering, and Production to integrate EHS practices into day-to-day operations.
  • Supports the EHS Manager in hosting regulatory, customer and other third party audits focused on EHS and Security
  • Maintain close understanding and relationship with all dept leads and Global EHS
  • To undertake such other reasonable duties as may be required from time to time in order to support the Perrigo business.
  • This is a facility-based role requiring regular presence on the manufacturing floor, occasional work in controlled environments, and participation in emergency response drills and compliance audits.

Experience Required

 

  • Qualified safety professional – NEBOSH General certificate or equivalent
  • Experience with Benchmark (Gensuite) or another EMIS system desired
  • Experience with Legal/Regulatory Compliance Management systems
  • Minimum 2 years of EHS experience in a pharmaceutical or high-risk manufacturing environment. Pharma background is highly desired
  • Knowledge of EHS regulations, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards, and GMP guidelines.
  • Working understanding of HOP principles and objectives desired
  • Good communication (both written & oral) and team-coordination skills
