Description Overview
Perrigo Nutrition is looking to add an Operational Excellence (OpEx) Manager to our team! This role will be physically based in Covington, Ohio but will be required to support the Nutrition Network as needed. The OpEx Manager will spend ~75% of their time in the Covington facility and the other ~25% traveling to support the other two manufacturing plants (Georgia, VT and Eau Claire, WI).
The OpEx Manager will be responsible in driving continuous improvement by implementing the Perrigo Work System (PWS) across the Perrigo Ohio site. This role will be responsible for leading the plant in deploying the TRACC methodology through the necessary maturity stages to achieve sustainable gains in a balanced scorecard. Additionally, this role will oversee the site's training team in developing and implementing comprehensive training programs that align with organizational goals and industry standards. The OpEx Manager will collaborate closely with corporate and other plant functions to achieve objectives aligned with business needs.
This is a site-based role that directly reports to the Plant Associate Director of Operations and indirectly reports to Associate Director of PWS & Training. The PWS Facilitator and Master Trainer in Ohio will directly report to this role.
Scope of the Role
- Accountable for the deployment of TRACC methodologies that make up the Perrigo Work System (PWS).
- Oversee the development and deployment of the site master plan for PWS implementation, including training workshops necessary to stand up Pillar systems and routines
- Facilitate the Site Steering Committee governance routines to remove roadblocks and to advance the PWS implementation plan across the site
- Be a champion for excellence acting as a change agent by teaching, coaching, and assessing the site through maturity stages of TRACC. Develop operational excellence expertise in other.
- Strengthen the Daily Management System to ensure consistent performance, sustainment of improvements, and enhancement of communication and engagement across all levels
- Foster a connected workforce as “one team” working with purpose through the effective use of the RedZone mobile platform
- Work directly with the site continuous improvement team to analyze plant losses and guide site pillar teams in applying pillar methodologies to sustainably eliminate these losses
- Develop a comprehensive training program that complies with FDA regulations and cGMP standards, tailoring training to specific roles and responsibilities to adequately prepare employees for their duties.
- Verify employee competency through assessments to ensure effective application of training and oversee the effective use of the Learning Management System to maintain training records in compliance with FDA regulations.
- As a member of the Plant Leadership Team, drive continuous improvement by ensuring alignment and consistency with OpEx global standards and best practices.
- Work collaboratively with peers across the Nutrition Network to implement and share continuous improvement and training best practices.
- Support the Associate Director of PWS & Training and the Vermont Leadership Team in the implementation of PWS at the Georgia, VT facility.
Experience Required
- Bachelor's degree required with concentration in Operations, Engineering Food Technology or Food Science preferred.
- 7-10 years of continuous growth and experience in Operational Leadership roles
- 3-5 years of experience with continuous improvement methodologies including a deep knowledge of Industrial Performance, TPM, Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or related programs and with examples of applications of results
- Experience in developing, implementing, and managing training programs, preferably in a food manufacturing or industrial setting
- Experience driving cultural change across multiple functions with increasing responsibility and a demonstrated track record of success
- Experience with the TRACC continuous improvement solution developed by CCi is preferred
- In-depth understanding of FDA regulations and compliance requirements, including Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and other relevant guidelines.
