Description Overview

The Electronic/Controls Planner is responsible for the planning and scheduling of all Maintenance (planned , predictive, and preventative).  This person is the liaison between the production, facilities, and maintenance in the organization.  This person  establishes Maintenance activity, maintains appropriate records and files to permit the understanding of compliance, meaningful investigation and reporting of results of work done. 

Scope of the Role

  • Responsible for processing and scheduling of all work orders. This  includes coordinating with Production to decide the necessity of the work order, deciding the management of change, and determining if any any engineering input may be required.  Following  the planning standard this position examines the best way to accomplish work order, obtains any drawings, and checks for availability of parts.  Works directly with Maintenance supervision to estimate steps to be taken, hours and number of mechanics required and lists materials for special equipment needed for completion of the work order. 
  • Establishes, schedules, and coordinates preventive maintenance plans in conjunction with the Maintenance Manager, Engineering, Quality, Safety, Team Advisors and Production. Ensure that AMM asset structure is accurate and meets Perrigo standards.
  • Facilitates Maintenance scheduling and backlog meetings in accordance with established agendas.
  • Establishes and issues a weekly Maintenance schedule and monitors with Maintenance supervision progress with the execution.
  • Responsible for producing, tracking and issuing key metrics to indicate the efficiency and effectiveness of the Planning and Scheduling system. 
  • Works with Engineering to establish asset care tasks and parts additions for new capital projects installed in the facility.
  • Ensures that the Computerized Maintenance Management is updated with current asset strategies including preventative and predictive maintenance plans, bill of materials, and standard work.  
  • Participates in Perrigo Works System (PWS) tasks. Implement and coach TA’s/Mechanics on Market guidance for the Planning and Scheduling routines.
  • Manages the closeout of work orders including task results, recording feedback, parts used, and the adjustment of work hours in accordance with Computerized Maintenance Management procedures.
  • Analyzes trends of failures and corrects / provides input for adjustments of predictive / preventive plans based on maintenance feedback to optimize the maintenance plans regularly.   
  • Keeps Maintenance Manager informed of any difficulties that arise in meeting priorities established by the Maintenance schedule.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Experience Required

  •  1-3 years of maintenance planning and scheduling experience required
  •  Experience working with SAP or any maintenance planning tool preferred
  •  Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) experience preferred
  •  Above average communication skills (written and oral)
  • Problem-solving skills
  • Ability to prioritize
  •  Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel required
  •  Flexibility with work schedule (allowing for planning needs)
