Description Overview
The Material Control Supervisor will oversee the day-to-day activities of the Material control team, working on multiple material control areas and across shifts in a manufacturing/packaging environment to ensure the efficient manufacturing/packaging of products.
This is a dayshift role, M-F with off shift work 2 times a week, as required.
Scope of the Role
- Supervises manufacturing and/or material control working on multiple production lines areas and across shifts, assigns tasks and adjusts workloads to meet production goals, schedules and monitors training, monitors production quality, troubleshoots and resolves problems.
- Ensures that all operations comply with current Good Manufacturing Procedures, reviews Standard Operating Procedure changes for all plant operations, and monitors training and enforcement to ensure SOPs are followed.
- Shares specialized experience or expertise with management and supervisory team in the development and implementation of on-going processes or special projects.
- May test or evaluate process changes and recommend their implementation or rejection, supervise on-going or special maintenance or installation projects, and work with engineering staff to select or evaluate new equipment, both on capital projects and ancillary equipment.
- May participate in capacity or budget planning, gathers and evaluates information, and makes and presents recommendations to the operations manager or other management staff.
- Manages and records performance metrics, prepares statistical and management reports for operations leadership, and completes necessary documentation.
- Help ensure we have the Staffing here to complete all of the tasks for the day.
- Help/Update Packaging Schedule for setting up loads.
- Set picks with materials and Locations.
- Build trailer load Patterns for new products, to ensure they are not overweight and update documents.
- Set the trailers to picks based on percentage of usage.
- Work with Perrigo inbound Transportation.
- Update transportation Daily on trailers and Load dates, Locations, dropped batches, Schedule changes, or rework downtime.
- Update all documentation and procedures and training for area.
- Pre set-up loads for Vacation days due to No Coverage.
- Manage factory waste and recycle trailer pickups
- Manage Pallet trailer pickups.
- Manage offsite waste animal feed and factory waste pickups
- Manage Can pallet pickups
- Manage tempering reports to get materials from offsite Coolers/Freezers
- Manage and schedule the pickups and returns of the cold/frozen items to ensure they do not expire from tempering check timeline.
- Goods receipt bills for the plant drinking water, waste management, chemicals, pallets, waste trailers, external warehouse, all trailer carriers, etc.
- Manage orders and keep correct supplies of plant consumables.
- Recall items back from off-site storage when needed and requested
- Take care of all the end process of RID’s (factory write off’s) which was: Sundry’s,1600 forms, RPD’s and 1605 forms.
- Ship out plant’s UPS packages.
- Ship out plant’s LTL loads.
- Help train operators on fork-lift during Jump Start.
- Manage and ensure loads are not arriving before due-date by clarifying dates and times when they call ahead or email for clarification.
- Check in UPS, FED EX, and all parts room boxes that get delivered through the UPS door.
- Responsible for maintaining and completing yearly inventory checks and requirements.
Experience Required
A minimum of 4 years in the field or with supervisory experience in a shipping and receiving warehouse environment. A four-year degree is preferred but we will consider applicants with multiple years’ worth of experience in a supervisory position.
