We are seeking a Research and Development Scientist to join our team in Eau Claire, WI
This is a first shift oppurtunity working Monday - Friday.
Scope of the Role
This position is responsible for the technical onboarding process of new and novel ingredients to support their use in Perrigo Nutrition Infant formula across the network. This highly collaborative role manages the ingredient specification, R&D aspects of vendor qualification and management of change process for seamless integration at the factory level. The R&D Scientist will closely interface with vendors, product development, procurement, regulatory and quality teams to act as the key technical resource for development activities and ingredient related issues at the Nutrition factories.
Experience Required
Education:
- Minimum: BS in Science with a strong foundation in nutrition, manufacturing, and chemistry.
- Preferred: BS in Food Science, Chemistry, Nutrition, or related degree with at least two years or relevant professional experience. Previous ingredient development experience preferred.
Competencies & Skills:
- Working knowledge in Ingredient Science, Manufacturing principles, and GMPs. General understanding of Statistics and Chemistry.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and competency in other Office applications. Experience in SAP, SLIM, Ensur, Open Text, TrackWise and statistical applications preferred but not required.
- Extreme attention to detail.
- Excellent project management skills.
- Good problem solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently in a result driven, high-paced dynamic environment. A willingness to switch gears and align quickly on emerging priorities.
- Ability to work cross functionally with Sourcing, Quality, Operations, Marketing, Sales and Regulatory.
- General understanding of nutritional manufacturing unit processes and the underlying food chemistry and technology principles preferred but not required.
- Exhibit curiosity and a willingness to learn, consumer focus and Perrigo’s core values in day-to-day work life.
