Description Overview

Oversee the entirety of the calibration department and program. The calibration supervisor will report to the maintenance manager and oversee the five Calibration / Instrumentation technicians. Ownership of calibration certificates, SOP’s, training, and continuous improvement. 

 

This position will most likely be for an off-shift, with the possibility of working either the 2nd shift from 12pm-8:30pm or the 2nd shift from 2pm-10:30pm.

Scope of the Role

  • Be a key owner of our calibration CMS, BEAMEX, in tandem with SAP.
  • Work directly with SAP planner to update, correct, and maintain calibration work plans and standard certifications.
  • Manage and direct Instrumentation technician team and department to success, this team has five members that cover 24/7 operations.
  • Review and complete daily Maintenance Foundation Documents; SAP/AMM and Record keeping.
  • Work directly with factory planning, quality, and SAP planning to complete calibrations before scheduled due dates. 
  • Evaluate training needs to ensure that technicians are properly equipped to perform their jobs.
  • Review and document team member's daily timecards, attendance records, and provide input for team member performance evaluations.
  • Write, review, and revise departmental SOP’s (Standard Operating Procedures) related to plant quality measures and calibration standards. 
  • Prepare for and facilitate team meetings when required. Provide daily/weekend support.
  • Coordinate contracted work and calibrations, with external vendors. 
  • Develop Purchase requests for new equipment as well as internal and external projects. 
  • Maintain compliance with regulations and refer to the Safety & Environmental Management System(s) on all related procedures and programs. 
  • Understand the environmental aspects of the position and take action to reduce these environmental impacts by conserving paper, electricity, water etc. Will also recycle all appropriate materials (paper, plastic, food, etc.)
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive registry of all calibrated equipment at the facility. 
  • Ensure alignment of calibration program with NIST standards to ensure FDA compliance.
     

Experience Required

  • 3-5 years of Maintenance and Electrical Experience.
  • Associate degree in Electromechanical or related field.
  • 1-2 years of Direct Leadership experience.
  • Preferred:
  • Experience with instrument calibration and measures.
  • Automation programming experience.
  • Bachelors degree in Electromechanical Engineering or related field.
