Description Overview
To directly manage all Quality Assurance activities in support of Contract Sales for the nutrition business unit, and identify and mediate the risk to the company and monitor the compliance and execution of contract customer quality systems.
Scope of the Role
- Manages and communicates all change control activities related to equipment, facilities, process, materials, and systems, as they impact the contract customer product.
- Acts as primary contact/facilitator for contract customer on all quality related issues.
- Ensures quality agreements are completed, reviewed for accuracy, and approved by both company quality management and the contract customer
- Reviews and forwards deviation investigations related to operations / products to contract customers for approval, insures contract customers are made aware of corrective and preventative actions, reviews and approves documents (i.e. deviations) , works with internal departments to develop, evaluate and implement action plans which maintain/improve product and process quality.
- Provides technical assistance on all quality related issues for products produced internally for contract customer.
- Analyzes and trends all deviation data for the materials/products managed, ensuring that adequate project plans are in place to remediate issues and drive continuous improvement.
- Independently scopes, plans and facilitates process and system audits conducted by contract customers, reports audit findings to process owners and management, facilitates development of corrective action plans by process owners, and tracks corrective actions and verifies implementation of corrections.
Experience Required
- Bachelor’s degree in a scientific discipline or closely aligned field.
- Three to five years professional experience in food manufacturing.
- Strong grasp of cGMP standards and requirements in an FDA regulated industry and the ability to interpret and apply these regulations and their application.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills at all levels of the organization and good interpersonal and relational skills.
