Description Overview

The Training Program Supervisor performs a key role in ensuring proper information is presented to new employees to become successful in their new roles. Close relationships with subject matter experts is a must to ensure the information presented along with hands on training will be sufficient for foundation understanding of safety,  quality, and processes. Facilitation of New Employee Orientation utilizing resources from subject matter experts.  As time allows, contribute to continuous improvement projects as an active participant. Engage frontline team members to identify gaps within our training program to enhance and strengthen training materials. Help contribute to how-to guides to identify top reoccurring issues and incorporate these findings into the training program to help new hires obtain knowledge to be successful in new roles. 

Scope of the Role

  • Designs, updates, and develops training curriculum and items such as on-the-job training courses, and department specific training programs including training materials, on-the-job trainings, curriculum, sign-off sheets and any other required materials.
  • Ensures corporate, departmental and contractor training requirements are met, and all required training is completed, documented and filed to maintain cGMP compliance. 
  • Develops and maintains subject knowledge related to content of learning programs, class materials, participant manuals and events that the Trainer is authorized to deliver.
  • Participates in the development of continuous improvement of training materials required to comply with the standards of the plant.
  • Ability to deliver and facilitate training programs, new hire orientation, supporting a 24/7 work environment.
  • Identify, prepare and collaborate with employees and management staff locally and across the organization to identify and employ best practices.
  • Create a safe and fun learning environment that maximizes engagement and learning.
  • Conducts annual audits of all training curriculum in affected departments to ensure continuing compliance to all applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Remain up to date with the training industry (including adult learning, instructional design, e-learning, and performance improvement) to provide Perrigo with learning leadership, being fully aware of the most current learning trends and tools available, and share with other trainers.

Experience Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Training and Development, Instructional Design, Organizational Development, or other related degree; or any combination of education and experience to be considered equivalent. 
  • 3-5 years’ experience in training, instructional design, or related experience including understanding of training methodologies, curriculum development and demonstrated soft skills (attention to detail, communication skills, critical thinking, time management, confidentiality etc.). Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Hands-on knowledge of production/packaging operations and associated control systems preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience with quality systems in an FDA current GMP regulated environment.
  • Proficiency in MS office applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Adobe. 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with all levels of an organization and be a part of a team.
