Description Overview

The Associate Brand Manager plays a critical role at Perrigo.  As an Associate Brand Manager, you will have the chance to build on Oral Care categories loved by millions of consumers.  This role will be crucial to the success of the business group, offering a full view of the business and marketing activities to drive customer success. This is a hybrid work position, requiring at least 3 days a week in the Kentwood, MI office.

 

This role will touch many areas of the business and will include responsibilities from tactical to strategic as we strive to solve customer needs.  Activities include but are not limited to assisting with the product development and commercialization, collecting, and analyzing data on market conditions, and briefing various marketing needs from research to packaging development.  This role will fill a critical job of connecting Product Development and Sales by helping to deploy our product innovations to the sales teams with the creation of sales presentations, spec sheets, opportunity campaigns, pricing, and more.

 

The candidate will have a strong marketing background, ideally within a traditional CPG organization, understanding the consumer and retail businesses. The ideal candidate should be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and must have a passion for understanding the needs and wants of consumers and retailers to fully maximize opportunities.

Scope of the Role

  • Bring ideas, passion, and capability to help us grow and protect our consumer driven solutions with an obsessive focus on the customer.
  • Leverage consumer insights to design and implement category strategies, including brand and product positioning, and messaging.
  • Collect data on market conditions, POS, customer demographics, and competitor activities, and provide updates with analysis for proposing modifications as identified by business needs.
  • Support innovation strategy via strong cross-functional engagement with R&D, Finance, Creative, Digital, Consumer Insight, and Sales teams.
  • Contribute to the multi-year innovation pipeline, ensuring key innovations and growth objectives are aligned with targets.
  • Key partner to the Sales organization to support customer success with regards to new product sell-in, sell-through, product communications, and campaigns.
  • Write and communicate various documents for use by internal teams and external agency partners that distill customer insights, set business objectives, and success criteria into actionable creative and product development.
  • Prepare reports and presentations to communicate NPD project status, stage gate approvals, and other business recommendations.

Experience Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing or related field.
  • Typically, a minimum of 4 years’ work experience in consumer-packaged goods marketing with a track record of success in either private label or branded marketing initiatives.
  • Successful candidates will exhibit a positive, can-do spirit, can prioritize for the biggest impact, and bring a strong team mentality approach to their work.
  • Excellent strategic customer-focused thinking skills with deep understanding of the consumer and marketplace trends and opportunities; experience using data and metrics to back up assertions of business value.
  • Strong analytical skills. Able to synthesize information, identify issues, turn insights into actions, and propose solutions in written documentation are vital components of the job.
  • Proven track record of working closely with the product development & operations teams.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and ability to present information.
  • Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word and ability to learn internal systems programs.
