Description Overview

We are currently looking for a Marketing Manager to join our team in Kentwood, MI. 

 

The Marketing Manager is responsible for all Marketing-related activities for their assigned Oral Care Brands and Private Label categories including delivering the P&L, development of the annual and long-term strategic plans, product development, consumer marketing research/trend analysis, demand generation, consumer promotion and Sales support.

 

This person must have consumer product marketing experience and be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.  Private label experience is a plus.  They must have a passion for understanding the needs and wants of both consumers and retailers to fully maximize opportunities. 

 

This person must be able to work collaboratively with the Sales, R&D, Operations, Legal and Finance teams in the development and execution of the business plans.  Incumbent is expected to have a vision for their business and lead by example demonstrating a positive, “can do” attitude toward delivery of necessary business results. 

Scope of the Role

  • Development, execution, and delivery of the short and long-term strategic business plans toward the goal of achieving annual business objectives.
  • Manage product strategies, bringing consumer-driven innovation to market for the benefit of both Perrigo and our retail partners.
  • Utilize retailer, consumer, and market information to establish product development priorities and marketing plans at both the category and customer levels; facilitate their execution with internal partners and our customers.
  • Manage packaging, digital initiatives, promotions, and sales materials. Collaborate with external media and creative agencies to drive category strategies.
  • Independently presents materials for customers or product audiences.  Leverage relationships with Sales teams and customers to maximize brand or category sales.
  • Support effective implementation of all GMP requirements and understand how they affect products and processes.

Experience Required

  • Typically these skills are obtained with a Bachelor’s degree in marketing or related field along with 6 years of professional experience with 3+ years in consumer-packaged goods marketing and/or analytical roles.  MBA not required but preferred.  Private label/Private brand experience a plus.
  • Experience negotiating and securing licensing rights for Brands.
  • Financial analysis, budgeting/control, and P/L management acumen.
  • Knowledge of how to utilize market research (quantitative and qualitative), identify consumer insights, analyze data and ability to take insights/concept to market.
  • Track record of successful new product innovation and developing & delivering both internal & customer presentations.
  • Experience working with retailers in a variety of channels including food, drug, mass, dollar and club stores.
  • Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word and ability to learn internal systems programs.
