Description Overview

 

We are looking for a Regional Payroll Lead to join our fast-growing People Solutions Team. Reporting to our Senior Director of Global People Solutions, you will be partnering with both Human Resources and Finance stakeholders to oversee payroll setups and migration to our regional payroll model. 

 

 

On successful completion of the transition, you will have overall accountability of our regional payroll processes and operations across multiple European countries namely Belgium, Netherlands, UK, Ireland and our DACH countries.

As our regional Payroll Lead at Perrigo, you will have the opportunity to build best-in-class payroll service delivery. 

You will provide strong leadership and strategic direction for the payroll function in the countries under your responsibility. 

Your primary responsibility will be to ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll while maintaining full compliance with applicable tax and labour legislation, accounting standards and internal requirements. 

 

Additionally, you will lead a diverse team of payroll professionals, foster a culture of continuous improvement, and collaborate with stakeholders to enhance payroll processes & systems. 

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in both global payroll transformation and managing high-standard delivery of regional teams.

 

Scope of the Role

 

  • Take a lead role within the inflight project to transform our global payroll structure
  • Drives the discovery of current ways of working, identifying and documenting resource, effort and process utilized
  • Supports the change of current end-to-end payroll processes (including controls and audit requirements) to those required as we move from current location specific setup to a global/regional provider(s)
  • Builds positive relationships with various stakeholders such as global payroll teams, HR and Finance
  • Drives continuous improvement efforts for regional/global payroll best practices that enhance payroll processes, increase efficiency, compliance, scalability and automation
  • Manages regional teams and enables accurate delivery of payrolls for all our employees, acting as point of escalation
  • Manages and builds relationship with external vendor(s)
  • Ensures the successful onboarding of new companies onto Perrigo’s payroll platforms and processes as the company carries out potential mergers and acquisitions (M&A)
  • Creates an excellent employee experience through the development of self-service resources, proactive communications and by managing payroll and equity-related inquiries
  • Anticipates, develops, and improves internal audit capabilities to ensure all compliance requirements are met
  • Assists with providing requests for the year-end audit
  • Works with HR and Rewards to ensure the timely and accurate processing of compensation and benefit transactions
  • Partners with Accounting and Finance on payroll related reporting and reconciliations
  • Supports ad-hoc projects, where required

Experience Required

 

  • 10+ years of global/regional payroll experience, ideally with transformation experience within a multi-country organization, 
  • Experience in supporting M&A activities, integrating payrolls and related processes preferred
  • Demonstrable experience delivering significant transformation in complex global organizations
  • Extensive experience of payrolls within Belgium, Netherlands, Germany, Austria required.  Knowledge of other European payrolls a plus
  • Demonstrated People Leadership experience required (managing diverse, complex, multi-lingual teams)
  • Project management experience is advantageous
  • Strong ability to collaborate, see the big picture yet drill into the detail, where needed
  • Bilingual English/Flemish required. Additional proficiency in German or French a plus.
