Description Overview

Perrigo is seeking interns with a variety of engineering disciplines to provide engineering support for day-to-day operations of a lean six sigma consumer goods manufacturing facility. 
As a Project Engineering Intern at Perrigo, you will provide technical project management support for medium to long term capital projects. Projects include, but are not limited to infrastructure, manufacturing, and packaging equipment within a cGMP pharmaceutical manufacturing facility.

Scope of the Role

  • Works on plant floor with the Mechanics, Operations, EHS, Engineering and other staff to troubleshoot technical or non-technical problems in relation to Production and Asset Reliability.
  • Coordinates and leads continuous improvement projects aimed at streamlining processes and improving capabilities.
  • Implements equipment and process changes that improve quality, productivity and safety.
  • Supports equipment or process validation efforts of new and existing equipment.
  • Develops and executes facilities projects as part of on-going efforts to reduce insurance liabilities.

Experience Required

  • Currently enrolled and pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, Biomedical, Engineering Management, etc.) required; rising Junior/Senior preferred.
  • Able to work at least a 10-week internship; works onsite 5 days/week, 40 hours/week.
  • AutoCAD experience, preferred.
  • Demonstrates leadership and collaboration skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including strong listening and presentation skills.
  • Performs well in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of or experience in cGMP environment or manufacturing facility preferred.
