Description Overview
The Environmental Microbiology Investigator is responsible for the Environmental Program within the facility and leading investigation and corrective actions.
First Shift - Monday - Friday, 8am - 4:00pm
Scope of the Role
Essential Functions:
- Coordinating routine environmental monitoring program
- Tracking and trending data from environmental program
- Leading investigations into nonconforming data to determine all potential sources and impact
- Investigate activities conducted in area, traffic patterns people movement, cleaning activities, sanitary design, etc.
- Coordinating and performing extra sampling to determine root cause
- Manage CIP verification testing program and trending
- Coordinating allergen and microbiology testing prior to extensively hydrolyzed production
Experience Required
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in science or related discipline (Food Microbiology preferred)
- Possess 6 years’ experience in Microbiology (Food Microbiology preferred)
- Experience conducting complex investigations and application of appropriate investigation tools to determine root cause and appropriate CAPA
- Knowledge of HACCP, Microbiology, Sanitation and Chemical Safety
- Must be able to demonstrate excellent Excel, PowerPoint and computer skills for data entry and presentation development.
- Effective communication skills and ability to work with multiple departments within the facility
- Demonstrated ability to work independently
- Must be able to bend, kneel, squat, reach on a regular basis. Occasionally climb ladders/stairs in an extremely hot environment
