Description Overview
Perrigo Nutritionals, in Georgia, VT is looking to add an Electrician to their Maintenance team.
This is a day shift position - $30 - $35 per hour based on experience
2027 Plant Closure Disclaimer
In March of 2025, Perrigo announced that the current operations at our facility in Georiga, VT will be migrated to our plant in Eau Claire, WI at the estimated sunset date of July 2027. However, production operations will continue until the closure date, so we want to make the remaining work experience with us as compelling as possible during that time!
Perrigo is committed to offering a highly competitive severance package for employees who see this project through to completion. At the time of the plant closure, if your tenure length is at least 12 months, you would be entitled to 52 weeks (one year’s worth) of base pay, bonus, and company-paid COBRA coverage for up to 1-year following your exit. For employees with less than 12 months’ tenure at the time of plant closure, they will receive 36 weeks (9 months) of base pay, bonus, and COBRA coverage. These severance offerings would be consistent with the terms of the Perrigo Company plc Severance Policy for U.S. Employees. From a new employee’s start date with Perrigo through their role completion, employment with Perrigo will remain as full-time, regular, benefits-eligible, and at-will employment classification.
Scope of the Role
- Provide project oversight/direction, responsible for maintenance and troubleshooting of the electrical/electronic aspects of manufacturing and packaging equipment and facilities in compliance with current electrical codes.
- Provide oversight, direction and training to less senior technicians. Completes general work orders and interfaces with other technicians across all shifts in a team environment.
- Continuously looks for and helps to implement improvements to the process, productivity, quality and reduce costs. Performs special projects and other related duties specific to the department as assigned.
- Coordinate the work order process, help resolve work order issues, and work with vendors to schedule and complete work orders.
- Create, modify, deactivate, and consolidate Preventative Maintenance Plans in SAP.
- Strong engagement with operations, warehouse and additional personnel to ensure work orders are well documented and understood for maintenance to resolve root cause.
- Work with Engineering and Operations to support stocking of spare parts on new equipment and getting PM’s set up as necessary.
- Research, evaluate, identify and order parts required for equipment working with mechanical and engineering as needed to minimize downtime and reduce costs.
- Provide reports related to maintenance when required to support audits and investigations.
- Lead initiatives to improve maintenance practices, reduce equipment failures, and optimize PM scheduling.
- Provide direction and training to technicians and others in the plant as needed on maintenance activities and planning.
- Lead efforts on special projects to facilitate continuous improvement in the maintenance department.
Experience Required
A minimum of 10 years manufacturing experience as a licensed electrician required and valid Vermont Electricians license; master electrician licensure preferred.
Requires completion of a high school diploma, General Education Development (GED) or equivalency. Demonstrated cooperative work conduct and the ability to work independently.
Must be able to work with minimal supervision.
Strong oral and written communication skills required.
Strong computer skills and proficiency in SAP PM/MM modules and Microsoft Excel.
Ability to read and work from blueprints and good math skills required.
Demonstrated commitment to meeting schedules and deadlines through good attendance and willingness to work overtime, including weekends when needed, are also necessary.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to walk, bend, stoop, and lift up to 55 lbs. is required.
Ability to walk up and down stairs as well as work at elevated heights and various climates (both hot and cold).
Stand for approximately 90% of a 8 hour shift.
Incumbent will be exposed to noise and hot and cold temperatures.
Willing and able to wear appropriate safety equipment to perform specific job duties per zoning requirements.
