Description Overview
To strengthen our Finance and Controlling team, we are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Financial Controller with robust accounting expertise to help optimize the financial accounting function of our organizations. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong grasp of month-end closing procedures, general ledger management, and effective oversight of accounts receivable and payable process. The Financial Controller will report to the Financial Controller Manager.
Scope of the Role
- Responsible for financial controlling activities for entities in Belgium, the Netherlands, and France.
- Collaborate closely with Perrigo Business Services (PBS), local and central finance teams, and business stakeholders.
- Lead month-end close and ensure timely, accurate financial reporting.
- Review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with local GAAP and US GAAP.
- Support financial reporting by providing local financial insights.Manage the general ledger, including journal entries, reconciliations, and intercompany reporting.
- Oversee accounts receivable and accounts payable processes.Ensure compliance with local and US GAAP in areas such as contracts, contingencies, and revenue recognition.
- Drive process improvements, finance transformation initiatives, and accounting best practices.
- Coordinate external audits and support auditors with required documentation.
- Maintain strong internal controls to ensure accurate financial reporting and risk mitigation.
- Contribute to finance projects, including e-invoicing, system implementations, and efficiency improvement initiatives.
Experience Required
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum of 4 years of professional experience in Controlling, Finance, Accounting, or Auditing.
- Strong knowledge of SAP and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
- Solid understanding of local accounting regulations as well as US GAAP principles, financial reporting standards, and management accounting practices.
- Proven experience with month-end closing activities, general ledger accounting, and controlling processes.
- Fluency in English is required; French language skills are considered an asset.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively within a remote and international team environment.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, complex corporate environment.
- Proactive, hands-on approach with a continuous improvement mindset and a strong sense of ownership.
