Description Overview

We are looking for a candidate to join our Maintenance team as an Asset Reliability Planner located at our Perrigo Oral Care Plant in Kentwood, MI 

  • Hourly Position
  • Monday-Friday 
  • Provides leadership in planning, scheduling, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement to bring a world class Asset Reliability and Maintenance performance and capability to the production, facility, and Maintenance organization at POC. The primary purpose of this position is to develop and execute systems that maximize maintenance efficiency and effectiveness. Focus is on implementing robust systems in the areas of Maintenance Planning & Scheduling (to most efficiently utilize planned downtime), Breakdown Elimination (to minimize unplanned downtime) and Regulatory Compliance (planning and scheduling maintenance activities to comply with internal and external regulatory requirements). These systems are to be implemented and maintained, driving standardization across the plant. The Maintenance Planner will drive sustainable process improvements and equipment reliability through tracking and trending of targeted maintenance KPIs. The Maintenance Planner will also develop and maintain the Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).

 

  • Planning jobs to ensure tools and resources are available to complete work orders.
  • Creating and updating job plans to ensure an accurate job library.
  • Works effectively with a diverse “customer” group, (production operations, production planning, maintenance resources, Plant Engineering, Safety, Quality, etc.), to understand, meet/exceed expectations, manage conflicting priorities and achieve desired business results.
  • Using scheduled Work Orders and PM’s, participates in directing workflow for production and facilities at the site, provides instructions to regular and temporary technicians, apprentices, and contractors to ensure that SOPs and safety standards are followed, and directs technicians and contractors to ensure that PM’s and WO’s are planned.
  • Tracks work orders so they are effectively resolved, and chronic issues are addressed. 
  • Works with facilities, engineering and operations personnel on capital projects affecting related equipment, and assists in developing and implementing PM’s, spare part inventories, training, & drawings.
  • Assists with validation or quality concerns. 

Scope of the Role

 

  • Support effective implementation of all GMP requirements and understand how it affects products/ processes supported and/or owned.
  • Establish and improve structures, roles and responsibilities for the maintenance planning and scheduling functions through standard work.
  • Ensure that the site has an effective formal and documented maintenance planning system to manage the process.
  • Capture master data into the planning system for all maintainable assets.
  • Develop the annual maintenance plan, taking into account maintenance shutdowns, statutory inspections and ‘windows of opportunity’.
  • Plan, schedule, and control the execution of the maintenance work.
  • Must be able to understand the scope of work to accomplish tasks such as scheduling Predictive, Preventive, Corrective, and Third-Party maintenance throughout the plant by coordinating work based on the Production schedule.
  • Analyzes and cross references maintenance data to further optimize maintenance planning and resources; historical PM frequency, equipment breakdowns, compliance requirements, 3rd party cost/availability.
  • Continuously improves the maintenance systems (CMMS, Autonomous Maintenance) and workflows.
  • Runs work order reports, weekly KPI reports, and maintains paperwork and records.
  • Provides support/leadership in developing and tracking maintenance costs while driving cost reduction opportunities.
  • Administers all CMMS training with the maintenance team and operations staff, as needed

 

Experience Required

  • Demonstrated leadership ability, excellent communication, organizational, root cause analysis and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail, proven accuracy, ability to multi-task, and strong customer service skills. 
  • High school diploma or GED. 
  • Having a recognized trade by the Department of Labor in a related field and experience in scoping, planning and cost management also preferred.
  • 3 years of experience in a Maintenance Planning capacity utilizing a automated CMMS preferably SAP.
  • 3 years of leadership experience
  • 5 Years of experience in operations / manufacturing environment, with preference given to FDA regulated / GMP environment and previous experience with maintenance.
