Description Overview
The Senior Market Data Governance Analyst NA for Market Measurement Data & Analytics is responsible for ensuring the quality, consistency, accessibility, and governance of the data assets, data suppliers, data contracts, and analytics platforms/tools that support the NA Cluster in connection with the EU Cross Cluster Analyst and Senior Market Data Governance Analyst EU for a One Perrigo view. This role serves as the primary governance analyst for market measurement data (sell-out/sales & share, custom & syndicated data, HH panel, etc.) and analytics (reports, dashboards, predictive modeling) related data domains in partnership with IT/NA cluster commercial analytics and is accountable for enabling a trusted, scalable, and governed analytics ecosystem that drives strategic decision-making across categories and commercial teams.
The role partners closely with Category & Cluster Business/ Commercial Analysts, Consumer Insights, Category Teams, Customer Teams, IT, Data Engineering, Finance, Supply Chain, and external data providers to establish and maintain a single source of truth for market, customer, product, retailer, and consumer panel data. The position governs data quality standards, supplier performance, metadata, data contracts, business definitions, and platform/tool adoption while ensuring alignment with enterprise governance policies and analytics requirements.
Scope of the Role
- Serve as the primary data steward for market measurement data supporting category, cluster commercial, and global business leadership teams.
- Support Market Measurment Data requests and expansion of coverage in scope, measures, and frequency.
- Support platform, tools, reports of Sales & Shares Reporting for eCommerce.
- Own and maintain business definitions, data standards, data dictionaries/mapping, metadata, and governance documentation for market measurement datasets.
- Establish and maintain a single source of truth for NA category definitions, market hierarchies, retailer mappings, product taxonomies, and business calculations in partnership with global category business analysts and the Senior Market Data Governance Analyst EU. These we be consistent with globally led category standards.
- Partner with category and commercial business analytics teams to ensure analytical outputs are based on approved and governed data assets and are fit for purpose.
- Ensure adherence to external vendor data sharing guidelines and internal enterprise data governance standards, policies, and regulatory requirements (in partnership with IT regional lead & IT governance team).
- Help define data quality frameworks, scorecards, KPIs, thresholds, and monitoring processes for analytics-critical datasets in partnership with IT governance leads for NA.
- Lead identification, investigation, prioritization, and remediation of data quality issues with external market measurement vendors (Circana) and IT governance leads for NA.
- Monitor completeness, consistency, timeliness, conformity, and accuracy of data from internal and external sources.
- Partner with IT governance as they lead automated data quality controls and exception management processes across analytics platforms.
- Establish root cause analysis processes and corrective action plans with business and technical stakeholders.
- Act as the partnership owner and governance lead for key NA market measurement data providers including Circana, Nielsen, IQVIA, Kantar, Europanel, Mintel, Euromonitor, Nicholas Hall, and other syndicated data providers.
- Manage weekly data provider priority setting with the NA cluster business analyst.
- Manage Perrigo organizational capability & training with data providers.
- Define supplier onboarding, validation, monitoring, and performance management processes.
- Ensure provider data is aligned to regional and global enterprise standards and business requirements.
- Coordinate refresh schedules, taxonomy updates, category redefinitions, and data delivery issues in partnership with data provider, category business analysts, Senior Market Data Governance Analyst EU, and IT.
- Partner with Procurement, Legal, IT, and Analytics teams to optimize supplier relationships and data acquisition strategies.
- Lead periodic supplier performance reviews and service quality assessments.
- Establish and maintain data contracts for data providers (i.e. Circana) in partnership with procurement, IT, and key stakeholders. This includes managing addendums to the main contract for added services.
- For new market measurement data provider contracts, define scope and statement of work, service level expectations, ownership responsibilities, quality requirements, refresh schedules, and usage standards with procurement and IT.
- Manage data lineage, traceability, and business impact assessments associated with contract changes.
- Collaborate with IT Governance (Data Engineering and Architecture teams) to ensure governance controls are embedded within analytical data products.
Experience Required
- Bachelor's degree in Data Analytics, Information Management, Business, Information Systems, Data Science, Statistics, Economics, or related field.
- 7+ years of experience in Project Management, Data Governance, Data Management, Analytics, Business Intelligence, Market Measurement, or Master Data Management.
- Experience supporting business and analytics organizations in CPG, healthcare, pharmaceutical, retail, or related industries.
- Embedded experience in a CPG business such as a business intelligence role with accountability of mining market measurement data, running prescriptive & predictive analytics to identify sources of growth with strategic recommendations that are acted on by stakeholders.
- Strong understanding of:
- Market Measurement Data and Key Providers, including eCommerce
- Digital Shelf Platforms & Tools
- Market Measurement Data Platforms for extraction and visualization (i.e. Circana Unify and MS Power BI)
- Prescriptive & Predictive Analytics and Modeling: Propensity, lifetime value, geo location, market or business forecasting, Bayesian/cluster/factor analysis, etc.
- Workflows, programming languages like Python, etc.
