Description Overview

The Senior Cost Analyst is responsible for planning, studying and collecting data to determine costs of business activity such as raw material, inventory, labor and cost of goods sold.  The individual in this role will also provide detailed analysis of information to help support decision making processes.

Scope of the Role

  • Provide financial leadership to site leaders by partnering with operational management to effectively maintain and understand current business operations and coordinate budgeting, forecasting and cost analysis.
  • Prepare and perform trend analysis, modeling, metrics and what-if scenario analysis to help support ongoing operations and increase visibility to the site
  • Independently investigates root cause of operational discrepancies to recommend corrective actions and process improvements
  • Assist in multiple year end and other period end processes, ad hoc analysis, and reports
  • Provide cost accounting support by preparing product cost estimates, new standard cost creation, integrations or miscellaneous cost analysis as necessary
  • Review production routers, calculating rates, and analyzing production variances

Experience Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in cost analysis, financial planning, or related roles.
  • Proficiency in Excel and financial modeling; experience with ERP systems is a plus.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills.
  • Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
