Description Overview
This role provides package engineering support and packaging component expertise by overseeing the design, development, and maintenance of packaging standards across both company facilities and external subcontracting sites.
Scope of the Role

Develops and prepares packaging specifications, cost estimates, and rationalizations
-
Conducts and documents package testing for component approval or troubleshooting

Collaborates with Business Units and functional teams to support new product/package launches, promotions, and displays, and drives cost-saving initiatives

Works with Business Units to resolve packaging issues related to component quality, equipment, and line efficiencies

Provides deviation resolutions related to packaging component quality

Coordinates, conducts, and documents packaging line trials for new or improved packaging components

Manages changes and resolves or escalates project issues using red flags or scope changes

Communicates project status, issues, and potential solutions clearly to team members, managers, and directors

Participates in the selection of new equipment and/or tooling
Experience Required
-
Bachelor’s degree in Packaging Engineering or another engineering discipline, with typically two or more years of packaging development experience in an operational environment

Thorough knowledge of current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs)

Ability to execute testing protocols for a wide variety of packaging components

Proven ability to work independently toward specific goals and to take initiative in identifying projects

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills, with a demonstrated commitment to customer service

Broad knowledge of methods in package design, testing, and packaging materials
