Description Overview
Responsible for the hands-on regulatory activities associated with bringing new products to the market of key OTC brands within the Perrigo UKI business. The role includes creating regulatory and commercial strategies for products of all classifications within our self-care portfolio: medicines, medical devices, biocides and cosmetics. Responsible for supervising direct reports.
Scope of the Role
- Ensures company’s regulatory affairs activities are conducted according to relevant regulations, laws, and standards.
- Oversees the company’s regulatory application process to obtain all necessary permits, licenses, certificates, authorizations, etc.
- Establishes and maintains good relationship with regulatory authorities.
- Ensure appropriate basis to marketing strategies are identified and/or implemented; assists in identification of regulatory strategies for all regulatory classifications.
- Provides advisory to company’s management on emerging regulations and developments in industry.
- Manages a team of regulatory affairs professionals.
Experience Required
- A scientific degree in a pharmaceutical, chemical or biological discipline.
- Typically 8+ years in the field of regulatory affairs, ideally within UK OTC including supporting umbrella branding, switches and claim creation for strong commercial campaigns.
- Must have experience of supervising others.
- Experience in non-meds (medical devices, cosmetics, biocides) is a plus.
- Good interaction skills with marketing and commercial teams.
- A view of regulatory affairs as a business enabling function, supporting the internal stakeholders with interactive discussions on claims and campaign execution.
- Experience launching new products and interactions with trade associations.
