Description Overview
The Supply Planning Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the UK Cluster supply chain, ensuring optimal stock availability to meet customer demand.
This role involves planning, directing, supervising, and evaluating workflow alongside driving strategic change to support Perrigo's customer-first strategy and long-term business goals.
Scope of the Role
Supply Planning Management:
- Oversee and coordinate the local supply planning function.
- Lead the SOE cycle with the Integrated Supply Manager from the central planning team to identify and address supply risks and opportunities.
- Assess the impact of weekly feedback from the central supply planning team on purchase orders.
- Ensures supply risks are shared and reviewed in the correct level of detail and timely for all stakeholders while mitigating them where possible.
- Act as escalation point for the team to mitigate and resolve issues and risks.
- Supervise product lifecycle and master data planner in introduction of NPI and NPDs to the business.
- Implement established supply chain policies, procedures, and practices to meet short and long-term business needs.
Strategic Improvement:
- Research, analyse, and recommend new strategies to improve supply plans.
- Attend project meetings, NPD, and other business review forums to represent the supply chain and ensure alignment with the supply chain strategy.
- Proactively identify and mitigate supply risks, sharing and reviewing them with stakeholders in a timely manner.
- Key involvement in the IBP cycle.
Operational Management:
- Manage the team's work activities to achieve the volume required to meet operational needs.
- Collaborate on opportunities to drive sales within and beyond normal lead times and constraints.
- Ensure effective collaboration between supply chain, sales, marketing, and distribution channels.
- Evaluate capacity and capabilities against forecasts to effectively manage the supply chain.
- Monitor system performance, maintain value stream metrics, scorecards, and objectives, and participate in Value Stream Operations meetings.
- Relationship, performance, compliance and improvement management with our 3 Party Logistics Provider.
Team Leadership:
- Lead, motivate, and evaluate a team of 4+ direct reports.
- Develop, coach, and mentor team members to enhance their skills and performance.
- Foster a positive and high-performing team environment.
Compliance and Reporting:
- Ensure full regulatory, SOX, and GDP compliance, reporting any deviations from established processes.
- Participate in inventory strategies and buffers to ensure service to the supply chain.
- Manage product flow and optimisation strategies to maximize profit and service opportunities.
Stakeholder Engagement:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including central planning and procurement, retailers, and other teams within the organization.
- Preparation of communications to internal and external stakeholders when facing gaps in supply."
Experience Required
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in the field, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
- University Degree or equivalent required.
- Extensive experience in supply planning within an FMCG or manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in SAP and SAP IBP is beneficial but not essential.
- Strong technical, analytical, and Excel skills.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to build and maintain positive business relationships with a diverse audience.
