Description Overview

The Manager, Tax Reporting is a dynamic, collaborative, critical thinker responsible for preparing most aspects of income tax provision. role as part of the Global Tax Operations team will also assist with global tax compliance process.

Scope of the Role

  • Prepare the consolidated global tax provision.
  • Preparation of the annual and quarterly income tax provisions and related tax reporting and compliance, regulatory audit
  • Responsible for the ASC740 reserve (FIN48) inclusion in the income tax provision
  • Prepare quarterly and year-to-date tax balance sheet reconciliations via managing the individual legal entity’s annual tax account reconciliation and analytics.
  • Tax accounting leader for consolidation of international subsidiaries, including preparing US GAAP tax journal entries, quarterly and annual US GAAP tax provision calculations, and annual tax provision to return analysis and related tax balance sheet true-ups.
  • Assist with SOX testing documentation process of tax department controls.
  • Extensive collaboration with tax, treasury, accounting, and finance teams.
  • Perform tax research on an as-needed basis.
  • Assist with tax planning projects as required.
  • Support the Global Head of Tax Controversy with Federal and State income tax audits.
  • Play an integral role in maintaining a highly responsive and technically sound tax organization that supports the long-term approach of the organization and interfaces across the organization to support key business initiatives.
  • Demonstrate strong communication skills with the ability to translate complex tax matters into language that can be understood and factored into overall business decisions by management.

Ability to interact collaboratively across the finance organization with external advisors and auditors.

Experience Required

LEVEL OF EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION/YEARS EXPERIENCE

  1. BA degree required; MBA, M.A. or MST preferred.
  2. 5+ years of experience; Big 4 accounting firm / large law firm, and large corporate tax department experience preferred
  3. Strong understanding of U.S. federal income tax rules and strong understanding of U.S. GAAP Financial Reporting

TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES

  1. Ability to write technical memos and prepare presentations that are clear and persuasive, for both tax professionals and business executives
  2. Substantial knowledge of ASC740 and tax compliance reporting requirements as applied to business and tax-driven transactions.

  1. Good interpersonal skills, including ability and desire to communicate, collaborate and coordinate with others throughout Perrigo Tax, Finance, and Business Units
  2. Experience thriving in a fast-paced, highly demanding work environment with multiple evolving priorities.
