Description Overview

The Sales Director supports the Market Lead deliver the country P&L, including any growth targets, across Pharmacy, Centralised Key Accounts and eCommerce.  Therefore, the role is accountable for managing a financially significant, complex Sales portfolio.

 

This role is pivotal for supporting the broader Sales team through direct line management, but also to positively influence and motivate cross functional teams to deliver & unlock opportunity.  The Sales Director is a senior point of contact for external customers so they are as expert in relationship management as they are in commercial ability.

Scope of the Role

  1. Deliver Channel Business Goals & Sales Strategy
  • Accountable for delivering local financial growth targets and the P&L to Gross Margin, by channel
  • Delivers the annual, quarterly & monthly business cycle requirements
  • Delivers channel RGM targets & DVRP guidelines per channel customer
  • Ensure Demand Planning alignment to drive accurate sku forecasting
  • Maintains Customer Segmentation & Targeting and action planning for customers

 

  1. Develop Leading Sales Principles
  • Collaborate with Cluster & Central teams to ensure consistency in achieiving the One Perrigo vision
  • Ensure end to end efficiencies are identified & delivered by customer/channel
  • Provide input to support innovation stagegates, driving customer compelling NPD & maximising channel PPA
  • Lead Sales team collaboration on key projects designed to achieve overarching deliverables, such as range rationalisations, Supply Chain reinvention, maximising innovation, white space opportunities or commercialising sustainability.

 

  1. Win in Executional Excellence
  • Oversee best in class annual plans/JBPs & longer term strategic planning with key customers
  • Support central teams consolidate performance/JBP reviews & drive pan EU initiatives for top CSCI customers
  • Ensure omnichannel approaches are taken to drive bricks & clicks where relevant
  • Drive Perfect Store DVRP requirements (Distribution/Visibility/Recommendation/Promotions) & deliver profitable market share expansion
  • Ensure tailored, compelling & financially robust customer concept sells are delivered to customers
  • Demonstrate expert customer knowledge to influence internal plans, unlocking stronger deliverables
  • Competitor benchmarking and action planning to win with top customers and categories

 

  1. Build Capability & Enable Success
  • Leadership & coaching of retailer facing Sales teams to ensure they achieve agreed SMART objectives
  • Input on Sales teams talent mapping/retention plans
  • Support ‘share & reapply’ approaches across the country, cluster and centrally
  • Support Sales training & development programmes to ensure teams are equipped with leading skills

Experience Required

  • Typically 10 years+ experience in a large Consumer Health environment
  • Sales experience essential, with broader commercial function experience an advantage (e.g. Strategy, Category Management or Marketing)
  • Deep expertise in the Pharma and OTC market, with a strong understanding of category dynamics, regulatory frameworks, channel behaviors, and customer landscape within consumer health.
  • Ideally have worked with or for market leading manufacturers within the country
  • Proven leadership & commercial capabilities
  • Proven track record in overcoming business challenges
  • Fluent in written and spoken english
  • Open, constructive mindset with an agile attitude
